Summer activities include the following, paragliding, road and mountain biking, rafting, walking, mountaineering and rock climbing to name but a few.

All the local villages are beautiful and every weekend one usually has a summer fete, expect good food, excellent local cheese and music and dancing late into the night. The scenery is stunning and the high alpine meadows are covered in a constantly changing carpet of wild flowers.

The Parc National de la Vanoise is just up the valley and has great climbing and walking potential.

Only 45min away is the old city of Annecy, situated at the end of lake Annecy, it's possible to swim and sail on the lake and paraglide or climb on the east side.

An hour and a halves drive takes you to the top of the col de Petit St Bernard on the Italian border. Drop down into the Aosta valley for great pasta and more stunning views (also really cheap Scarpa boots!
